Penn Cambria knocks off Bisons

CRESSON — Penn Cambria jumped out to a 19-2 lead into the second quarter and ended up handing Bedford its first loss of the season, 54-29, Friday in high school boys basketball action.

Garrett Harrold led the Panthers with 19 points, and Connor Karabinos scored 14. Mercury Swaim led Bedford with 11 points.

Guilfoyle rolls

Patrick Haigh led a balanced attack with 17 points as Bishop Guilfoyle took care of Richland, 64-36, at the Pleasant Valley Gymnasium.

The Marauders were up just six at halftime, before outscoring the Rams 19-10 in the third quarter, and 21-8 in the final frame. Cam Khoza added 14 for the winners to go with 13 points from Alex Wood.

BG celebrated senior night as Khoza, Wood, Michael Woolridge, Casey Smith, Konner Kiesewetter, Andrew Yanoshak and Evan Wandersee were honored.
