Heights in playoffs

PATTON — Cambria Heights secured a spot in the District 6 Class 3A playoff by holding off Northern Cambria, 40-37, in high school boys basketball action on Friday.

Northern Cambria missed a potential game-tying 3-point shot at the buzzer.

Heights received 11 points from Bernie Whiteford and 10 from Ryan Bearer.

Tyler Bearer scored 18 for the Colts.

Jake Tsikalas led a balanced attack with 12 points, and Carter Smith and Garrett Harrold each scored 10. The Panthers improved to 12-6.

Ean McCarty’s 24 points were tops for the Bobcats (16-3), who will play Northumberland Christian in Saturday’s final.

Kort Sease contributed 17 points for BCC. Teammate Davis Dull added 13 points.
