Haigh, Homan lead offense for BG girls

ALEXANDRIA — Teresa Haigh and Leah Homan combined for 37 points in leading the Bishop Guilfoyle girls basketball team to a 63-44 win over Juniata Valley Tuesday night in high school action.

Homan finished with 19 as BG took a 16-6 first-quarter lead. Haigh finished with 18 points in a game the Lady Marauders were up, 42-28, going into the final frame.

Valley got 13 points from Emma Musser and 10 points from Olivia Smith.

Altoona beaten

HARRISBURG — Central Dauphin jumped out to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter and went on to beat Altoona, 58-32, in girls basketball.

Caroline Shiery led Central Dauphin (4-0) with 20 points, and Maddie LaFrance had 14. Adalynn Cherry and Adaliz Corbin each scored nine for Altoona.

Kendel Norris led Williamsburg with 16 points, Jayla Woodruff scored 11, and Megan Palmer had 10.
