Everett rifle team wins

SOMERSET — Deegan Ramsey shot a personal-best 280, and Joey Kovach matched that score to help Everett top Somerset, 1,377-1,218, and finish the regular season undefeated in high school rifle action.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this team today as we wrapped up our regular season with yet another undefeated record,” Everett coach Coltin Rice said. “We had some ups and downs on the team, but I’m really happy with how we never gave up and how we stayed focused mentally tonight. Deegan Ramsey shot an awesome match, and I couldn’t be happier for him to shoot a personal best on his last regular-season match of his career. I believe that a lot of people expected us to be down this year after we graduated several fantastic individuals last year, but that never fazed this team.”

The Warriors will take on Conemaugh Township in the Allegheny Mountain Rifle Conference championship on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Jerome Sportsmen’s Club.

EVERETT (1,377): Kovach 280, Ramsey 280, Siegel 279, Klavuhn 273, Kendall 265.

SOMERSET (1,218): Sleasman 256, Chabol 255, Wess 241, Nicklow 233, Waggle 233.

Records: Everett (13-0).

JV: Everett, 285-268.
