BG clinches LHAC spot

H.S. girls basketball

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic defeated Bishop Carroll Catholic, 62-27, to clinch the final spot in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference semifinals in a high school girls basketball game Tuesday at the Pleasant Valley gym.

The Lady Marauders, who got 19 points from Teresa Haigh and 18 from Leah Homan, will travel to top-seeded Forest Hills on Thursday.

Makayla Koscho led the Lady Huskies with nine points.

Bishop Guilfoyle fell to Bishop McCort, 59-54, Monday night in Johnstown.

CRESSON — Lora Davis scored 28 points on senior night to help Penn Cambria defeat Chestnut Ridge in a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference game.

The Lady Panthers, who trailed 30-22 at halftime used a 21-8 third quarter, and a 29-10 fourth quarter, to improve to 13-9 overall, 11-7 in the league.

Ridge (1-21, 0-18 LHAC) got 21 points from Madelyn Hyde.
