Notable: Cambria Heights won its only girls basketball district title during the 1983-84 season under coach Sandy Murphy. The Lady Highlanders defeated Central Cambria, 63-48, behind a 20-point, 14-rebound effort from Melinda Selby and 17 points from Susie Haluska. … Tyrone won its only girls district title in 1994, led by first-team Altoona Mirror All-Star Ashley Norris. … Fusco is Tyrone’s only senior. … The Lady Eagles lost to West Shamokin in the 2017 District 6 Class 3A championship game. … The teams have only one common opponent in Penn Cambria. Tyrone defeated the Lady Panthers by seven early in the season, and Heights beat them twice, by 38 in the regular season and by 14 in the semifinals.
