Notable: Johnstown defeated Bellefonte, 75-71 in overtime, in last year’s District 6 final. The Trojans were in Class 4A when Hollidaysburg won the 5A title in 2018. … Johnstown’s losses have come at the hands of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic (which the Trojans avenged in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference final), Bedford and Richland (both of which they split with). The Rams also played Hollidaysburg and won by seven. … The Golden Tigers haven’t played since Feb. 6 and haven’t won since Jan. 31 when they finished off a three-game winning streak with a win over Punxsutawney. … Izir Britt, a senior guard for Johnstown, is out for the rest of the season with an undetermined illness and is currently hospitalized in Pittsburgh.

District 6 Class 4A boys final

Teams: Tyrone Golden Eagles (21-2) vs. Huntingdon Bearcats (21-2)

Playoff path: Tyrone defeated Central, 46-44, in the District 6 Class 4A semifinals. Huntingdon defeated Penn Cambria, 75-46, in the District 6 Class 4A semifinals.

Notable: The teams split a pair of very different regular season games and also split the Mountain League title. Tyrone won the first game on its home floor, 73-52. Huntingdon also won at home, 71-64. … Both teams went undefeated at home. Tyrone’s second loss was in overtime to Class 5A top seed Johnstown, and Huntingdon lost at Bishop McDevitt in overtime. … The Bearcats have won the last two Class 4A championships and entered the playoffs undefeated last year before beating Central in the finals. … The Golden Eagles haven’t won a district title since winning the Class 3A title in 2000 with star guard Eric Castorina. … Tyrone has no seniors on its roster. … The Bearcats have won three state playoff games over the past two years.

District 6-8-9 Class 5A girls final

Teams: Hollidaysburg Lady Tigers (17-6) vs. Portage Lady Mustangs (22-3)

The coaches: Hollidaysburg — Deanna Jubeck (142-88, 10th year); Portage — Lance Hudak (226-212, 18th year)

Playoff path: Hollidaysburg defeated DuBois, 62-36, in the District 6-8-9 5A semifinals; Portage defeated Obama Academy, 56-45, in the District 6-8-9 5A semifinals.

Notable: Portage is a Class 2A school playing up to Class 5A. It will drop to Class 1A next season and play at that level for the next two years. … The Lady Tigers have won the past two District 6 Class 5A titles. … Portage has never won a District 6 girls basketball title but has made it to the Class 1A PIAA semifinals under Hudak. … Hileman has been out with an injury, but following Hollidaysburg’s win over Tyrone, Jubeck said she expected her back in the playoffs, though she did not play against DuBois. If she’s out, Lear will likely get the starting nod. … The Lady Tigers have defeated the Lady Mustangs in each of the past two regular seasons at a neutral site, including 60-48 at Saint Francis this year.

District 5-6 Class 4A girls final

Teams: Huntingdon Lady Bearcats (13-10) vs. Forest Hills Lady Rangers (23-1)

Site, time: Mount Aloysius Athletic Convocation and Wellness Center, 4 p.m.

The coaches: Huntingdon — Jeremy Uhrich (13-10, first season); Forest Hills — Carol Cecere (record unavailable in 25 seasons)

Playoff path: Huntingdon defeated Juniata, 50-36, in the District 5-6 Class 4A semifinals. Forest Hills defeated Bedford, 60-36, in the District 5-6 Class 4A semifinals.

Notable: Forest Hills is going for its sixth consecutive district championship. Three of those have come in Class 4A and the previous two were in Class 3A. The team that won the title before that was Huntingdon, which defeated Johnstown to claim the Class 3A title in 2014. … This is a rematch of last year’s title game, won by Forest Hills, 64-44, at Hollidaysburg Area High School. … The Lady Rangers went 22-0 in the regular season before losing to Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic in the semifinals of the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference playoffs. … Current Bellwood-Antis boys coach Patrick Cassidy coached the Lady Bearcats to last season’s title game.
