Maxwell scores 47 points

Girls basketball

EVERETT — Kaitlyn Maxwell poured in 47 points to power Everett past Southern Huntingdon, 79-49, in an Inter-County Conference South Division high school girls basketball game on Wednesday.

Maxwell also contributed nine rebounds, seven steals and four assists as Everett moved to 9-5 overall and 8-0 in the division with its seventh straight win.

Maxwell is closing in on the all-time scoring mark at Everett, needing 30 more points.
