Smith makes history for Valley
MOUNT UNION — Halee Smith set the new career scoring record for Juniata Valley girls basketball with 22 points as part of a 79-10 blowout win over Mount Union in high school action Monday night.
Smith now stands alone atop the leaders in Lady Hornets history with 1,542 points, having surpassed Claudia McDowell’s previous mark of 1,539 points.
Hayden Taylor added 16 points for the Lady Hornets, including two 3-pointers, while Olivia Smith and Avery Taylor each had 12 points.
