Lions hand Carlisle first setback

CARLISLE — K.J. Futrell scored a game-high 20 points to lead Altoona past Carlisle, 54-50, Tuesday night in boys high school basketball action.

The Mountain Lions held a one-point lead after one quarter, but Carlisle outscored Altoona 17-5 in the second quarter for a 23-22 lead.

Altoona battled back, outscoring Carlisle by 15 in the second half, including a 14-4 showing in the third quarter.

Caleb Pierce added 13 points, and Jeremiah Crockett scored 10 points for the Lions.
