Hollidaysburg tops Obama Academy

PITTSBURGH — The Hollidaysburg Area High School girls basketball team improved to 7-2 Saturday afternoon, thanks to a 49-34 win at Obama Academy.

The Lady Tigers, who used a 21-8 second-quarter showing for a 33-17 halftime lead, got 18 points — including 12 on four 3-pointers — from Allison Hileman. Teammate Janessa Goins added 11 points.

Alexis Weimert and Meghan Molosky each scored 16 points to lead Tussey Mountain past Central at Penn State Altoona’s Adler Arena.

Sophie Brumbaugh added 12 points for Tussey. Kylie Metzger led Central with 15 points.

Central raised $506.95 on its Pink Night, supporting those affected with cancer. The money was donated to the Betsy Weimert Scholarship Fund. The check was presented in honor of Betsy Weimert to her husband, Ted, an assistant coach for Tussey Mountain, and their daughter, Tussey player Alexis Weimert.
