Bedford boys win consolation

H.S. basketball roundup

CLAYSBURG — Davis Kline scored 14 points to lead the Bedford Area High School boys basketball team to a 62-49 consolation win over host Claysburg-Kimmel in the Holiday Hoops Tournament Friday night.

Jace Growden (13 points) and Chaz Fatula (11 points) were also in double figures for Bedford.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Landon Bauman, who scored 10 points.

Claysburg-Kimmel’s Monday home game against Juniata Valley has been postponed. No makeup date has been set.

Northern girls fall short

HANCOCK, Md. — Even with Emma Eckenroad (16 points) and Sydney Snyder (16 points) both in double figures for the Lady Panters, it was not enough to get the job done as the Northern Bedford girls came up just one basket short, 50-49, Friday night at the Hancock, Md. Shootout against Saint Maria Goretti.

Cirri Akaya (18 points) and Arielle Jacques (15 points) were both in double figures for the Lady Gaels.

Lady Tigers win Sheetz consy

McKenna Hurd led all scorers with 12 points as Hollidaysburg edged Central, 36-33, in the girls consolation game of the Sheetz for the Kidz Tournament at the Altoona Fieldhouse on Thursday.

Theresa Gildea made three 3-pointers and finished with nine points for Hollidaysburg, while Cassie Mock led Central with nine points.
