Athlete of the week achievement: Cherry scored 16 points in a 56-11 victory over Central Dauphin East and led all scorers once again with 21 points in a 50-16 victory over Carlisle later in the week. Cherry also had several steals in both games.

Season update: Cherry is averaging 18.5 points per game as Altoona is off to a 2-0 start both overall and in the Mid-Penn Conference.

Coach Chris Fleegle’s quote: “Adalynn’s performance over the past two games showed her overall talent on both sides. She turned her scoring on when the team needed it, but her commitment level on the defensive end — with tipped passes, steals and her defensive rebounding — was outstanding. She’s a leader that gets the whole team to follow her.”
