Athlete of the week achievement: Cavender went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs in a 6-4 victory over Williamsburg in the District 6 Class 1A quarterfinals. She then went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three runs and four RBIs in a 20-4 victory over Portage in the semifinals.
Season update: Cavender is hitting .515 (34-for-66) with seven homers, 37 runs and 44 RBIs for the 18-4 Lady Bulldogs, who play Glendale in the district final on Thursday.
