Athlete of the week achievement: Witherspoon scored 17 points in a 62-61 win over Our Lady of Sacred Heart in the PIAA Class 2A semifinals and followed with a game-high 19 points in BG’s 54-52 loss to Math, Civics & Sciences in the PIAA championship.

Season update: Witherspoon averaged 15.5 points, 4.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game for the Marauders.

Coach Chris Drenning’s quote: “He’s as good as anyone I’ve seen at getting to the basket. In order to reach his potential, he needed to work hard throughout the year on his jump shot. He’s done that, and it’s become a weapon for him. As a program, we are excited to see how much he improves in the offseason and just how far he can take himself and our team.”
