Coach Miriam Colledge’s quote: “Caranda is truly a special and gifted player. She is an explosive, pure shooter with incredible form and range who has the ability to shred the opposition in a very short time. Once she gets going, she is virtually unstoppable, and with her ability to block shots, rebound and read defenses, a player like Caranda is at the top of every coach’s wish list, so our program is incredibly fortunate to have an athlete like her. Being an elite scorer can also come with its own set of rules. Often, she becomes “the hunted” and attracts a great deal of constant, defensive pressure which can be very frustrating at times. Caranda has done a remarkable job of absorbing this attention for the benefit of her team and is still able to average double figures in spite of it. She has labored in the gym since elementary school to perfect her shooting, ball-handling and strength and conditioning.”
