Athlete of the week achievement: Hayward collected 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 61-59 win over Cambria Heights, had 23 points, eight assists and eight steals in a 58-44 victory over Bishop Guilfoyle and added 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes in a 63-43 win over Somerset.

Season update: Hayward is averaging 15.7 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 steals for the 5-2 Lady Red Devils.

How I got my start in basketball: “I played with my sister and cousins when I was little, and in second grade I played at the YPCC.”

Future goal: Win the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference, districts and make it far in the state playoffs
