Nittany Lions game at OSU postponed
UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State men’s basketball team’s road game against Ohio State scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 results.
A statement released by Penn State noted that “the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and the broader community are of the utmost importance. Therefore, as part of the protocols established by the Big Ten Conference and Penn State Athletics medical staff, and in consultation with University, local and national officials and guidelines, individuals with a positive test have been put into isolation. In addition to isolation, contact tracing procedures have been implemented, which includes quarantine and testing for those individuals who might have been exposed, even if asymptomatic.”
This is the second time this season the Nittany Lions (3-4, 0-3 Big Ten) have had a game postponed because of COVID-19, with their Jan. 3 game at home with Wisconsin being the first victim.
The Nittany Lions are scheduled to host Michigan this Saturday. There was no word on whether the OSU game would be made up at a later date.
