PSU hockey on to semifinals thanks to Big Ten series win
UNIVERSITY PARK – The Penn State ice hockey team advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday night, winning game 3 in its best-of-3 series with Wisconsin, 4-3, at the Pegula Ice Arena.
Penn State (21-14-2) will play at Ohio State this Saturday in the semifinals with a trip to the championship game on the line. Game time is at 3:30 p.m.
Liam Folkes was the hero for Penn State. He scored the winning goal in overtime at the 10:50 mark. Teammates Cole Hults and Alex Limoges also scored for the Nittany Lions. Folkes also scored the game-opening goal.
Goalie Peyton Jones stopped 36 shots on goal.
