Givens charged in alleged assault

Former Penn State and Altoona Area High School football standout Kevin Givens is facing second-degree assault charges for allegedly attacking a man in Baltimore, according to an article published on ESPN.com.
Givens just finished up his second season with the San Francisco 49ers, where he has played in 13 games over those two seasons.
The charge is alleged to have happened back on Feb. 22 in which Hayden Bosley, the victim, told officials he suffered a dislocated shoulder, a black right eye, bruises above his left ear and minor skin scrapes after being attacked by Givens.
The 49ers acknowledged the situation in a statement released on Friday.
The charge is a misdemeanor second-degree assault. If Givens were convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and/or a $2,500 fiine. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 26.
