Neil Rudel’s take: Otto Kneidinger from Bellwood-Antis, who transferred from Pitt, captained the squad along with Frank Reich, whose son is now the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. The team only finished 5-4 with smackdowns by Army and Navy, a loss to West Virginia and a shutout at Pitt. The season’s highlight is a 21-20 come-from-behind win over No. 18 Syracuse, a matchup that featured Moore (146 yards) and the great Jim Brown (159 yards). The dateline for the games is now University Park after an on-campus post office opens.
