PSU football gets heralded recruits
From Mirror reports
Penn State added four-star quarterback Christian Veilleux to its list of 2021 commitment class Wednesday afternoon.
The Canada native, who will play his senior season of high school at The Bullis School in Maryland, is a 6-foot-3-inch quarterback. He picked the Nittany Lions over a list of finalists that included the likes of Clemson, Duke and Tennessee.
Veilleux is ranked as the No. 15 pro-style quarterback and the No. 295 overall player in the Class of 2021, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
“Penn State has always been a program that I’ve been familiar with and I’ve had guys that I’ve trained with and worked with who are currently there,” Veilleux told 247Sports. “I feel like that offense is suited for the type of player that I am, and the campus and academics is what I’m looking for.”
Penn State also got a commitment from Sander Sahaydak, one of the top-rated kickers in the nation for the Class of 2021, and he’s from Pennsylvania.
“It is a dream come true to play Division I football at the highest level with a chance to win championships,” Sahaydak wrote on Twitter. “Thank you Coach (James) Franklin and Coach (Joe) Lorig for allowing me to be in this amazing position. I am excited to get to work and continue to develop.”
Sahaydak will be a senior at Liberty High School in Bethlehem this fall.
Penn State’s recruiting class for 2021 now has nine commitments, including five four-star players, and is ranked No. 14 nationally.
