Ravens ink Hopkins for $6M, one season
The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract with veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because free agents can’t sign until Wednesday.
The 32-year-old Hopkins moves from one AFC contender to another after finishing last season with Kansas City. He caught a touchdown pass in the Chiefs’ loss to Philadelphia in the Super Bowl, but 2024 was not his most productive season. He caught 56 passes for 610 yards for Kansas City and Tennessee.
In his 12-year career, spent mostly with Houston and Arizona, Hopkins has 984 receptions for 12,965 yards and 83 touchdowns. He surpassed 1,000 yards receiving as recently as 2023 with the Titans, but they traded him to the Chiefs last year.
Hopkins gives Baltimore another target for Lamar Jackson alongside receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman and tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.
Falcons get help
ATLANTA — A person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Tuesday the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with edge rusher Leonard Floyd. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. The deal came shortly after Floyd was released by the San Francisco 49ers. The 32-year-old Floyd was second on the 49ers with 8.5 sacks while playing all 17 games.
The Falcons have made improving their pass rush a top offseason priority. The Falcons ranked next to last in the league with 31 sacks in 2024.
Eagles trade DB
The Philadelphia Eagles’ top-ranked defense is getting a major makeover a month after ending Patrick Mahomes’ bid to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
A day after defensive tackle Milton Williams and edge rusher Josh Sweat agreed to leave Philly via free agency, the Super Bowl champs agreed to send safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans for guard Kenyon Green and a swap of late-round draft picks.
Green, who was the 15th overall pick in the 2022 draft, started 23 games for Houston over two seasons. He didn’t play in 2023 because of a shoulder injury.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Allen had been Washington’s second-longest-tenured player after being drafted in the first round in 2017. Fries is a 26-year-old who followed center Ryan Kelly from the Colts to the Vikings. Kelly has four Pro Bowl selections.
