Lady Tigers volleyball gets sweep over Blue Devils

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg needed just three sets to record a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18 and 25-18) victory over Bellwood-Antis Tuesday night in high school girls volleyball play.
Delayni Baird paced the Lady Tigers with seven service points, while Rylee Harshaw, Kynlee Budny and Lena Ransom all collected five apiece.
Alexis Wagner led the Lady Blue Devils with seven service points, while Giuliana Gummo had six points and Ava Worthing finished with nine kills.

Rangers down Carroll
SIDMAN — Bishop Carroll had its match with Forest Hills tied at one set apiece before dropping the final two in a 3-1 (25-13, 21-25, 25-12 and 25-15) defeat.
Olivia Gregg finished with 11 digs and eight kills, Sophie Becquet totaled nine digs and six kills, Lily Strait dished out 22 assists, while Adison Myers recorded six blocks.
JV: Forest Hills won, 25-19 and 25-16.
Sweep for Heights
PORTAGE — Cambria Heights used a three-set sweep to earn a 3-0 (25-12, 25-23 and 25-13) victory over Portage.
Kylie Hess came up with 12 digs, Mya Burda dished out four assists, while Bridget Semanchik totaled four kills and Brooke Stager served up three points for the Lady Mustangs.
JV: Cambria Heights won, 25-17 and 25-11.
Vikings prevail
ALEXANDRIA — Glendale and Juniata Valley battled through four sets with the two teams splitting before the Lady Vikings were able to pull out the deciding fifth set by a 15-13 score.
The Lady Green Hornets won the first (25-19) and fourth sets (25-23), while the Vikings took the second (25-20) and third (25-23).
Madi Skebeck ended the night with nine service points and nine blocks for Glendale, while Hannah Matish registered 14 service points, Avery Crynock recorded 10 points, and Rachel McClellan chipped in by adding nine points.
Madyson Burdge tallied 17 service points and 10 kills for JV, Sidney Entrekin came through with 13 assists and 13 service points, while Braelyn Hall finished with 18 digs and Shawnee Bishop ended with 11 points.

SAXTON — Northern Bedford was only able to capture the third set (25-21) in a 3-1 loss to Tussey Mountain.
The scores of the other three sets were: 25-13, 26-24 and 25-19.
Amberly Detterline posted 18 assists, 13 kills and two blocks, Callie Miller finished with 16 assists and 10 service points, while Ava Sipes had 13 digs, 11 points and seven kills for the Lady Panthers.
Kaylee Ebersole (17) and Grace Dainty (14) hit double figures in digs for NBC.

NEW PARIS — Penn Cambria was able to handle Chestnut Ridge in three sets by scores of 25-17, 26-24 and 25-21.
Maddy Kittell picked up 17 assists for the Lady Panthers, while Lily Gergely totaled 11 kills and Makenna McCoy added nine service points.
Red Devils delighted
EBENSBURG — Central Cambria swept Westmont Hilltop in three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-21.
Erica Brouse fronted the Lady Red Devils with 15 kills, 13 digs and nine service points, while Riley Kauffman delivered 34 assists and Rowan Ruddek finished with 14 digs.
