The Penn State Altoona women’s soccer team swept the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s weekly awards in the sport.

Junior goalkeeper Mya Torres was selected as the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman Kira Trexler, a Central graduate, was chosen as the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week.

In her college debut, Trexler provided the assist for the Lions’ second goal of the game. She won the penalty that Taylor Frederick converted for the Lions to tie 3-3.

In the game against Cedar Crest, Trexler was involved in all three goals, providing two assists and scoring a goal of her own.

Kerr selected

Riley Kerr, a member of the Saint Francis women’s soccer team, has been named the NEC Rookie of the Week.

It is the first time in her career that he has earned a weekly conference honor.

Colaianni honored

Penn State Altoona junior Lexi Colaianni was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week.

Colaianni had a dominant performance in both singles and doubles for the Lions on opening weekend, helping Penn State Altoona go 2-0 in road matches against AMCC opponent Carlow University and non-conference foe Waynesburg University.
