HUNTINGDON — Hollidaysburg went 4-1 and won the VFW Baseball 16U state tournament this past weekend when it downed Lebanon Valley in the championship game, 15-0, in five innings.

On Saturday, Hollidaysburg beat West Branch, 10-0, in five innings with Mason Mierley going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Alex Glasgow firing a three-hitter. Hollidaysburg then lost to host Huntingdon, 6-4, with Gavin Treon getting two hits.

On Sunday, Hollidaysburg beat West Branch, 10-2, behind Connor Pike’s two-hitter with nine strikeouts. Mierley and Vince Boland each had two hits.

Hollidaysburg then topped Huntingdon, 11-5, to advance to the finals. Glasgow went 3-for-4, Mierley and Beau Rabel each drove in two runs, and Braden Hatch and Carter Muth each had two hits.

In the championship game, Hollidaysburg banged out 13 hits with Mierley and Muth each getting two. Treon, who threw four shutout innings to get the win, Hatch and Mierley each drove in two runs.
