CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Sideline Cancer’s run in the 2025 version of The Basketball Tournament came to an end Monday at the Charleston Coliseum at the hands of fellow TBT original Eberlein Drive, 88-75.

Sideline Cancer got 22 points from Alonzo Verge Jr. and 14 points from Jermaine Marrow but could not overcome a 1-for-18 performance from beyond the 3-point line.

Meanwhile, Eberlein Drive hit on 10 of its 27 3-point attempts and was 18-for-21 from the foul line.

Gabe York led Eberlein with 23 points. Terrell Brown added 14 points, and Junathaen Watson and Anthony Clemmons each scored 13 points.

Sideline Cancer trailed 79-62 going into the Elam Ending. Despite outscoring Eberlein in the extra time, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Earlier in the tournament, Sideline Cancer had topped Madd Katts, a Louisville alumni team and L.A. Ignite to reach Monday’s quarterfinal round.

Eberlein Drive will take on Best Virginia, a group of West Virginia alums, in the semifinals on Thursday. In the other semifinal, Aftershocks will play We Are D3. The winners of those games will play for the championship on Aug. 3 at 4 p.m. on FOX.
