Pitching delivers for Altoona Curve in win over Harrisburg Senators

HARRISBURG — The Altoona Curve picked up their sixth win in a row on Friday night at FNB Field with a 5-1 victory over the Harrisburg Senators.
The Curve improved to 9-1 to begin the second half and earned their 1,800th regular season win in franchise history.
Making his second Double-A start, Antwone Kelly allowed just two base runners in his first four innings and struck out four batters.
Harrisburg took advantage of two errors and a walk to load the bases with one out in the fifth, but Kelly got Johnathon Thomas to bounce into an inning-ending double play.
Kelly threw 5ª shutout innings before handing the ball to Ryan Harbin, who struck out three in 1• scoreless innings. Justin Meis wrapped up the win with two innings and gave up one run.
The Curve received a pair of homers from Omar Alfonzo and Kervin Pichardo. Alfonzo went 2-for-3 with a homer, a double and a walk.
Duce Gourson added an RBI single in the sixth inning. Termarr Johnson recorded his ninth multi-hit game in his last 22 games played with a pair of singles.
The Curve continue their series in Harrisburg on Saturday night at 6 p.m. Wilber Dotel takes the ball for the Curve against the Senators’ Travis Sykora.
