PennCrest advances in Teener 15U playoffs

David Ivory singled, doubled and drove in two runs as PennCrest Bank topped J&P Auto Mart, 13-6, in the Altoona Teener League 15U Division double-elimination playoff tournament at Seitz Field on Monday.

PennCrest, now 3-1, plays undefeated KarPro Tire & Auto Center for the championship today beginning at 5:30 p.m. If PennCrest wins, it will force a second game between the two teams at 7:30.

JJ Jimenez and Nolan Morris each added two hits for PennCrest.

Coach Geno cruises

Top-seeded Coach Geno Foundation downed Blaise Alexander, 12-2, in five innings at Geesey Park in the first game of their George B. Kelley Federation 15U best-of-3 semifinal series.

Caleb Lawther went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs, and Carter McConnell earned the win by striking out four batters in three innings of work.

The teams are scheduled to play Game 2 of the series today at Prospect Park.

Gority prevails

Gority Brothers Construction scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and hung on to beat VFW Post No. 3, 3-2, in the opening game of their best-of-three George B. Kelley Federation 15U semifinal series at Prospect Park.

Lucas Farabaugh threw four innings to earn the win, and Alec Woodring earned the save.

Anthony Riccio and Ari Holzer each had two hits for VFW.

Game 2 is today at Geesey.
