4-H shooting program excels at PSU event

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Pennsylvania 4-H Shooting Program held competitions recently in Centre County at the Penn State Ag Process Day event where two competitors from Blair County came up big winners.
In the Muzzleloader Junior Division, Isaiah Snyder earned first place honors while Alivia Snyder won the senior division title. Isaiah also took home top honors when he won first place in the junior division of the Air Rifle competition.
Karlie Lynn of Bedford County won the senior division Air Rifle title.
Both Snyders compete for the Blair County 4-H Sharpshooters, who won top team honors in the Muzzleleader and Air Rifle portions of the tournament.
Arbogast honored
CHAMBERSBURG –Eric Arbogast was among the students recognized for outstanding athletic achievement during the Wilson College annual Athletic Awards Ceremony held April 27, 2025.
A Hollidaysburg graduate, Arbogast, who competes on the Wilson men’s soccer team, received the Student Athlete Award, presented to a male student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average.
Upcoming event
All former area baseball players and guests are invited to the annual event at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park Pavillion No. 3 on Thursday, Aug. 7.
The event begins with beverages of water and soda at 3:30 p.m. — guests may bring their own canned alcoholic beverages.
Appetizers are at 4 p.m., and dinner, featuring chicken barbecue and Murf’s Famous Potato Salad and more, is at 5. A raffle drawing starts at 6.
There will be additional handicap and regular parking available this year, located at Pavillion No. 3 area. Mention to the security guard at the gate you are with the Old Timers’ Baseball Club.
The deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, July 29.
The cost is $14 per person and $14 per guest. Checks should be made payable to Old Timers’ Baseball Club and sent to 436 Cedar Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA, 16648.
