Tyrone, Central baseball teams both pick up late-season victories

TYRONE– Tyrone scored two runs in the bottom of the first and then tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth inning of a 4-1 victory over Bald Eagle Area Monday in high school baseball play.

Owen Oakes singled and doubled as the lone Golden Eagle with multiple hits, while Ashton Walk, Brienn Jones and Gayge Miller recorded one RBI apiece.

Dragons rule

MARTINSBURG — Central broke the game open from the start with eight runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 10-0, five-inning win over Penns Valley.

Winning pitcher Coltin Harbaugh worked four innings, struck out six and allowed one hit for the Dragons.

Kyle Klotz knocked in three teammates on two hits, while Wyatt Dilling and Jay Hoenstine scored twice for Central.
