Central Cambria softball team wins slugfest over Westmont Hilltop

EBENSBURG — Trailing by nine runs entering the bottom of the fifth inning, Central Cambria rallied all the way back to tie the game before Aubrey Ruddek delivered a walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to give her team a 13-11 win over Westmont Hilltop Friday in high school softball action.
Ruddek went 4-for-5 on the day including collecting the 100th hit of her career, while also crushing a grand slam in the sixth inning and amassing seven RBIs on the game for the Lady Red Devils.
Sophia Blasko also homered for CC and totaled three RBIs, Katie Scott had two hits and two RBIs, while Avery Biter recorded three hits and Hayden Turner came through with two.
The game featured 10 total home runs as Westmont delivered seven of the afternoon.

Bellwood-Antis splits
BELLWOOD — Bellwood-Antis split a pair of games in a rare two-games at home as it defeated Clearfield by an 11-5 score in the opener and then suffered a 14-0 loss to Bald Eagle Area in the nightcap.
Against the Lady Bison, Parker Martin and Amyra Snyder delivered two hits and three RBIs to lead the Lady Blue Devils, winning pitcher Palynn Gregg tallied two runs batted in, while Karlie Sweigert and London McKee came through with two hits apiece.
In the nightcap against the Lady Eagles, B-A had just two hits, both coming from Martin, while striking out 17 times by BEA pitcher Savanna Albright.
The contest was only 6-0 before Bald Eagle put eight runs on the board in the top of the seventh.

Despite only having three hits, the Lady Bulldogs (19-0) took advantage of four Berlin errors, while also getting two RBIs each from Launa Musselman and Isabella Paris.
