50 years ago: April 24, 1975 — All six members of the Altoona Boxing Club, John Robertson trainer, won their matches in Cumberland, Md.: Pat Hallinan, Bob Crook, Rick Woomer, Duane Nagle, Norm Barony and Jack Chilcote. They were eligible for the National Tournament in Louisiana.
25 years ago: April 24, 2000 — Hollidaysburg Little League baseball season opened with the Hollidaysburg Rotary blanking the Hollidaysburg Lions, 5-0, with David Rahoi pitching a no-hitter and Ryan Conway hitting a grand slam.
