50 years ago: April 24, 1975 — All six members of the Altoona Boxing Club, John Robertson trainer, won their matches in Cumberland, Md.: Pat Hallinan, Bob Crook, Rick Woomer, Duane Nagle, Norm Barony and Jack Chilcote. They were eligible for the National Tournament in Louisiana.

25 years ago: April 24, 2000 — Hollidaysburg Little League baseball season opened with the Hollidaysburg Rotary blanking the Hollidaysburg Lions, 5-0, with David Rahoi pitching a no-hitter and Ryan Conway hitting a grand slam.

10 years ago: April 24, 2015 — Jennifer Bertoldi won first senior girls and Chloe Fisher first junior girls, Tristan Fisher first senior boys and Ian Yon first junior boys in the Altoona District Youth Bowling Association Tournament.
