Steelers sign O-lineman
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers signed offensive lineman Max Scharping to a one-year contract on Tuesday.
Scharping has played in 81 regular-season games over his six-year NFL career that includes stops in Houston, Cincinnati and last year with Pittsburgh. He started for the Bengals in the 2022 season which included the team’s run to the Super Bowl. He was also on Washington’s practice squad roster before going to the Steelers last season.
Scharping was drafted by the Texans in 2019 in the second round out of Northern Illinois. He had five starts in his three years in Houston.
He played in 53 games for Northern Illinois and was a first-team Academic All-American.
