Portage Area High School graduate Kaden Claar was honored for his academics on Tuesday.

Claar, a junior guard for the Penn State Altoona men’s basketball team, was named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District team.

Claar is majoring in kinesiology.

Erin Talko, a Bishop Guilfoyle graduate and a current junior at Shenandoah University, was named co-captain of the women’s tennis team. Talko started her spring conference season with a 2-1 record in doubles and 1-2 in singles.
