CC dominates Carroll

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria seized control early with four runs in the first inning, five in the second and eight in the third en route to a 17-0 three-inning victory over Bishop Carroll in high school softball action on Tuesday.

Katie George doubled twice and homered for the Lady Red Devils, Cam Matlin recorded three singles, while Keira Link and Rowyn Ruddek finished with two hits apiece.

Central Cambria, which pounded out 13 hits, got a combined pitching effort from Link, Aubrey Ruddek and Rowyn Ruddek in the no-hitter.

WINGATE — Sophia Morris’ RBI in the third inning was the only run for Hollidaysburg in an 11-1 five-inning loss to Bald Eagle Area.

Maggie Hicks doubled, and Mikaylah Vincent struck out six, while allowing seven hits for the Lady Tigers, who committed three errors.

Margaret Elias paced the Lady Highlanders’ 13-hit attack with three, while Gena Lane, Ellie Bender and Rylee Lane came through with two apiece.

Gena Lane smacked a home run for Heights while knocking in a pair of runs.
