PC starts season on high note

PATTON — Penn Cambria opened its season on Monday night with a 25-21, 17-25, 25-19, 25-16 win over Cambria Heights in girls high school volleyball action.

The Lady Panthers got 15 service points and 15 assists from Alyssa Zupon to go with eight kills from Georgia Borlie and five blocks from Addison Hite. Cambria Heights got 10 service points from Regan Conrad and 11 assists from Maelyn Dutko.

Sossong sparks Portage

PORTAGE — Keira Sossong had 26 digs and 11 service points to help Portage to a 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 win over Marion Center.

Trissa Smith added 23 assists and 15 service points for the Lady Mustangs, who also got 10 kills from Paige Phillips. Teammate Jada Willinsky added 14 service points.

Lady Marauders fall

Huntingdon defeated Bishop Guilfoyle 25-23, 25-12 26-24 at the Pleasant Valley Gym.

The Lady Marauders got 10 service points each from Rowan Disabato and Maddie Myers. Disabato also added 15 digs.
