CIP takes home Teener Minor trophy

Crafted in Pennsylvania captured the Altoona Teener Minor League championship Wednesday night at Seitz Field, thanks to a 10-9 win over Gingrich Insurance in the title game.

Gingrich came into the postseason with a first-place mark of 15-3 during the regular season. CIP finished at 10-7-1.

Had Gingrich won, a second game would have been played Wednesday to determine the champion.

No other details were reported to the Mirror by press time.

Late SBR

Locker Room improved to 3-9 in the Senior Babe Ruth division of the Altoona Teener League with a 6-4 win over Spartan Roofing in a late game Tuesday at Vets Field.

Nevan McGraw had three hits and two RBIs for Locker Room. Jamen McCabe got the win in relief. He struck out three.

LILLY — Ryan Ickes hit three triples, and Brock Porter drove in six runs on three hits as Lilly Conrad Chiropractic/American Legion defeated Honey Baked Ham, 12-2, in five innings in a Greater City League game Wednesday night.

John Gority and Mike Folcarelli each had two hits for Honey Baked Ham.

Ethan Hileman went 3-for-3, scored three times and drove in a run to lead Johnston Realty to a 12-2 victory over Blair County Oil at Juniata in a Greater City League-AAABA game.

Deven Wyandt had BCO’s only hit.

Michael Turiano, Brendan Baney and Cody Becker each ha dtwo hits and two RBIs for Johnston.

The Allegheny Ridge Bats improved to 9-3 with a 3-2 win over Sheetz in a Greater City League game from Tuesday night.

TYRONE — Stuckey Automotive Collision Center scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie and win, 13-8, in a Kelley Federation game at the Harry Sickler Complex.

Winning pitcher Nate Empson drove in two runs, and Baylon Casteel had three hits and scored three runs.

Briann Jones had three hits for Tyrone.
