Coach John Saboe quote: “Evie was our setter and as our setter, she acts as kind of like the quarterback of the football team. She was a major piece in what was the puzzle of our team. She proved to be a good leader of our team throughout various points in our season. I think she will do fantastic in college. She has an outstanding work ethic. She dedicates herself to training and preparing for her games and always being ready for any obstacles that will be in her path.”

How I got my start playing volleyball: “In fourth grade, my parents signed me up for Baker Elementary CBRC volleyball without telling me. I remember being horribly upset and angry with them all the way to my first practice. Looking back at it now, I couldn’t be more thankful.”

Favorite college growing up: Penn State

Other interests: Art, movies, books and spending time with family and friends

What getting to play in college means to me: “Playing in college is not only an opportunity to better my volleyball skills, but also to meet a wonderful new group of people that I hope to one day call family.”

Why I picked Saint Francis: “SFU is a great school with high-tier academics and a very competitive Division I track and field team.”

Greatest high school achievement: 2021 district champion in javelin and 2020 district champion in football

Coach Mike Adams quote: “Ethan is an extremely hard worker. He’s been dedicated to sports for all his life. We are very proud of his dedication to the team and we think he will do very well at Saint Francis. His work ethic, his dedication, everything about him is first class.”

How I got my start throwing javelin: “I was recruited by a junior high coach, who was also the head track and field coach, to try out for the team in eighth grade.”

Favorite college growing up: Penn State

Other interests: Hunting, fishing

What getting to play in college means to me: “Playing sports in college was a dream of mine from a young age. I always wanted to compete at the Division I level, and Saint Francis gave me that opportunity. I am extremely excited to continue my education while also doing a sport I love.”
