Dirt bike races tonight

JOHNSTOWN — Hundreds of dirt bike enthusiasts will compete this weekend at the 1st Summit Arena, where 120 dump truck-loads of dirt are now covering the surface in preparation for the Tri-State Arena Championship Series events tonight and Saturday.

Spectators are invited to all sessions. Admission is $25 for adults and $16 for children under 12, with no re-entry permitted. Children under 4 are free.

Races start at 7 p.m. both nights, with additional sessions for amateurs in the mornings and afternoons each day.

While the professional races will feature some of the top arenacross racers in the eastern United States, the early sessions will attract competitors of all ages and skill levels from far and wide, according to circuit owner Ronnie Farmer.

Farmer said he anticipates Johnstown becoming a permanent fixture on the circuit.
