Locals complete race

BRONX, N.Y. — Portage senior Lauren Shaffer finished 79th in 20:04.8 and Grier’s Edith Manfred was 86th in 20:10.7 in the girls championship division race at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships in Van Cortland Park this past weekend.

Juniata Valley’s Morgan Hess was 127th in 21:56.2.

In the junior-senior division race, Altoona’s Mackenzie Kelley was 54th in 23:33.7 and Jaden Quinn, a Bishop Guilfoyle student, was 70th in 25:23.2. Kelley and Quinn both medaled as Third-Team All Northeast as top 30 Senior Runners in their division.

On the boys side, Hollidaysburg’s Ben Love finished 185th in the championship division in 18:40, Altoona’s Aidan Kelley was 192nd in 18:47.2, Hollidaysburg’s Chris Love finished 215th in 19:33.4 and Altoona’s George Boutiller was 225th in 20:09.1.

Abraham Manfred of Hollidaysburg medaled for finishing in the top 30 for freshmen in the boys freshman-sophomore race with a time of 20:35.1 and finished 89th overall.

Soccer recognition

Hollidaysburg senior Braden Callahan and Northern Bedford junior Collin Yeatts were named to the 2021 Boys Pennsylvania All-State Team for high school soccer players recently.

Callahan made the team as a forward and Yeatts as a midfielder. Richland senior Trent Rozich also made the team as a forward.
