Tigers, Lady Tigers, Lady Lions all receive No. 1 seeds
The District 6 high school soccer playoff pairings were released this past weekend and there are three No. 1 seeds from Blair County.
On the boys side, the Hollidaysburg boys are No. 1 in 3A and will host No. 4 Penn Cambria on Monday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The winner gets the winner of Central Mountain-Bellefonte in the finals.
On the girls side, Altoona is the No. 1 seed and gets a bye. Mifflin County and State College meet in a semifinal game on Monday, Nov. 1. The winner gets the Lady Lions in the final.
The Hollidaysburg girls are the No. 1 seed in 3A and get a bye. The Lady Tigers will get the winner of Bellefonte-Tyrone. The Lady Eagles are a No. 2 seed. Those two teams play on Monday, Nov. 1, at 5:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
Also receiving a No 2 seed are the Central girls in the 2A field. The Lady Dragons play Juniata at Mansion Park this Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. On the other side of the bracket is No. 1 seed Bedford, which will play Forest Hills (No 8 seed) on Wednesday at 8 at Richland.
The Altoona boys are the No. 2 seed in the 4A field. They will play No. 1 seed State College next week in the finals. The Bishop Guilfoyle girls are the No. 2 seed in the 1A field and will play Penns Valley on Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Mansion Park.
The winner gets the Moshannon Valley-West Branch winner in the finals. That game is also Thursday at 7:30 at Bald Eagle Area. West Branch is the No. 1 seed.
In the boys 2A field, No. 8 Cambria Heights plays No 1 Westmont Hilltop on Tuesday at Johnstown at 8. No 4 seed Central Cambria hosts No. 5 seed Juniata on Tuesday at 6.
Other 2A matchups include Huntingdon-Penns Valley on Wednesday at Mansion Park at 8:15 p.m. and Philipsburg-Osceola at Richland on Tuesday at 6.
