Lady Marauders beat rivals

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic outlasted Altoona, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 15-7, at the AAHS Fieldhouse Monday night in high school girls volleyball.

Erin Yahner had 15 kills and four blocks for the Lady Marauders, and Lia Simanski finished with 15 kills and 12 digs. Abby Yahner had 45 assists and 22 digs, and Ava Taddei registered 13 digs.

Altoona, which saw its record fall to 6-9 on the season, got 14 kills, nine service points and five digs from Sydney Stroup, seven blocks from Kaylee Smith and 15 assists from Evy Stroup.

Lady Devils sweep

JOHNSTOWN — Leah Burggraf had 22 service points and seven aces to lead Central Cambria to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-2 sweep of Johnstown.

Alli Malay finished with seven kills and 18 service points with six aces for the Lady Red Devils.

JV: Central Cambria, 25-14, 25-17.

Central triumphs

MARTINSBURG — Central topped Northern Bedford, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, behind seven kills each from Kirsten Ayers and Addie Smith.

Kaitlyn Weltzel had 11 assists and six aces, and Haylie Mingle finished with 26 digs.

Addie Sipes and Madison Miller each had six kills for Northern Bedford, and Lanie Sipes added 13 digs.

The Lady Panthers fell to 6-11 while Central improved its record to 7-18.
