JOHNSTOWN — Brandt Patterson’s first-place overall individual finish in 18:12 helped Penn Cambria top Central, 18-39, in boys high school cross country action on Wedesday.

Tyler Beisinger had the Dragons’ best finish in 19:39, good enough for fourth.

Kasey Farabaugh finished second on the girls side for Penn Cambria, which lost to Richland and individual winner Bri Rager, 28-31.

Hershberger wins

ALEXANDRIA — Northern Bedford’s Savannah Hershberger won the individual girls race in 20:35, but the Juniata Valley girls earned a 20-43 win over the Lady Panthers. The Lady Hornets also defeated Moshannon Valley, 15-50.

In the boys race, which was won by Huntingdon solo runner Tyler Rader in 18:20, Northern Bedford’s Dhylan Miller and Nick Strayer finished No. 2 and No. 3.

The Black Knights topped Juniata Valley, 20-39 and Northern Bedford, 25-33, by claiming the fifth through 10th spots.
