Love brothers help Tigers in the sweep

TYRONE — Chris Love and Ben Love finished 1-2 in the boys race to help Hollidaysburg down Tyrone, 15-32, in high school cross country action on Tuesday.

The Hollidaysburg girls were also victorious, winning 21-37, behind Seddy Clapper’s first-place finish. Tyrone’s Beth Pearson finished second.

Miksich helps Eagles

TYRONE — Cassidy Miksich shot an 80, and the Tyrone Area High School boys golf team won a quadrangular with Hollidaysburg, Bishop Guilfoyle and Bellwood-Antis with a team score of 337 at Sinking Valley.

Miksich tied Hollidaysburg’s Wes Eberhart for medalist honors. Hollidaysburg finished second with 349.

BG, which received an 82 from Nick Helsley, was third with 352, and Bellwood-Antis was fourth with 427.

Stitt leads Tigers

EBENSBURG — Ashden Stitt fired a medalist score of 44 to help the Hollidaysburg girls golf team stay unbeaten at 12-0 with wins over Penn Cambria and Central Cambria.

Emma Kennedy shot a 49 for the Lady Tigers, who finished with a team score of 145. Bella Spahr had a 50 for Penn Cambria (158), and Jewel Sikora shot a 51 for Central Cambria (162).

HOLLIDAYSBURG (145): Stitt 44, Kennedy 49, Bihary 52.

PENN CAMBRIA (158): Spahr 50, Mostick 52, Marshall 56.

CENTRAL CAMBRIA (162): Je. Sikora 51, Griffith 55, Sechrengast 56.
