Pitt punter on Ray Guy list
PITTSBURGH–University of Pittsburgh senior punter Kirk Christodoulou was watch listed as a preseason candidate for college football punter of the year by the Ray Guy Award on Wednesday.
Christodoulou (Melbourne, Australia/Balwyn) is coming off his best season with the Panthers after being named a Pro Football Focus All-American (second team) and Guy Award semifinalist in 2020.
He played in all 11 games and averaged a career-high 44.7 yards on 53 punts to rank 16th nationally. However, Pitt’s net punting average last season was a school-record 41.94, which placed 11th in the FBS. Christodoulou booted 23 punts inside the 20-yard line with just one touchback and 30 of his punts resulted in a fair catch.
