Saxman pitches BCO to victory

Blair County Oil improved to 11-9 with an 11-1 victory over Medicine Shoppe at Vets Field in Greater City League action Tuesday.

Mark Saxman fired a three-hitter for BCO, and Matt Massaro delivered three hits.

Locker Room wins

Locker Room downed Bavarian Hall, 18-8, at Vets Field on Monday night in the Altoona Teener Baseball League Senior Babe Ruth Division regular-season finale.

Jacob Hammel led Locker Room with four hits, and Trent Querry had two. Jordan Schnarrs had two hits for Bavarian Hall.

Local Olympian

NORRISTOWN — Blair County will be represented in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, being held June 5-12, 2022, in Orlando, Fla.

Tennis athlete Garran Burget will be part of Team Pennsylvania, which will be comprised of 122 athletes and Unified partners, 34 coaches and six staff that will participate in 14 of the 19 Olympic-type sports offered.
