Walters big reason behind C-K victory

WILLIAMSBURG — Sierra Walters allowed just two hits and a run and struck out 10 as Claysburg-Kimmel avenged an earlier loss to Williamsburg, 5-1, in high school girls softball Thursday.

Harleigh Cavender and Haileigh Reed each had two hits and drove in a run, and Reed hit a pair of doubles.

Elizabeth Frederick, who struck out 11 in a losing effort and allowed just two earned runs, drove in the Lady Pirates’ run.

Lady Eagles win

TYRONE — Maecy Tuskovich doubled and drove in three runs to lead Tyrone over Huntingdon, 8-2.

Winning pitcher Madelyn Rockwell struck out eight and walked none as Tyrone improved to 6-7.

Mady Burkey had two hits and drove in a run for the Lady Bearcats.

CC sweeps BC

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria’s Kami Kamzik and Mia Ruddek combined on a no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Bishop Carroll, and the Lady Devils scored 13 runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull away from the Lady Huskies in the second game, 24-2.

Olivia Janosik homered in both games for Central Cambria, which totaled 28 hits in two games.
