Tyrone tops Little Lions

TYRONE — Rodney Shultz pitched six solid innings, and after Tyrone scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Aiden Coleman closed the victory out with two strikeouts in the seventh inning as the Golden Eagles topped State College, 5-4, Friday.

Bryce Hunter had two of Tyrone’s four hits and scored a run.

Dragons triumph

ROARING SPRING — After Huntingdon tied the game in the top of the seventh inning, Regan Dodson’s RBI double brought home the winning run for Central in a 6-5 victory in girls high school softball action Friday.

Madison Benfer finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, Lacey Lynn had two hits, including a double and winning pitcher Kennedy Hoyt struck out eight.

Madysen Burkey homered for the Lady Bearcats.
