HUNTINGDON — Hollidaysburg won two games by a combined score of 16-0 to capture the championship in the Huntingdon Area High School Softball Tournament on Saturday.

Olivia Vincent and Maria Malone both tossed complete-game shutouts in wins over Juniata Valley and Williamsburg, respectively.

Malone drove in three runs for the Lady Tigers.

CRESSON — Penn Cambria lost to Cambria Heights, 7-2, and defeated Bedford, 8-6, in a pair of games.

Karli Storm and Ari Westrick each had two hits and drove in two runs, and Madison Bender had three hits for Heights.

The Lady Panthers got three hits each from Ashley Galovich and Patty Wagner in their win over Bedford.

Mustangs win two

PORTAGE — Portage won a pair of baseball games over WestPAC opponents to clinch a berth in today’s championship game against Berlin Brothersvalley at Mount Aloysius at 4:30 p.m.

The Mustangs defeated Conemaugh Valley, 15-0, behind a one-hit shutout from Andrew Miko, who also drove in two runs. Josh Morgan had four hits.

In Boswell, Portage defeated North Star, 18-2, and got three hits and four RBIs from Miko. Tyler Alexander added three hits, and Luke Scarton drove in four.

Altoona loses two

Benny Montgomery, one of the top high school prospects in baseball expected to be drafted in the top 25 of this year’s MLB draft, helped Red Land defeat Altoona in a pair of games at Mansion Park.

Montgomery, an outfielder, tripled and scored a run in Red Land’s 4-2 win in the first game. Lucas Muffie had an RBI triple for Altoona.

In the second game, Montgomery homered and drove in three runs in a 10-0 Red Land win.

PATTON — Adam Ford allowed just three hits and struck out 11 in Cambria Heights’ 4-1 triumph over Penn Cambria.

Ford also drove in a run. Ty Stockley had a hit, drew two walks and scored a run for the Highlanders.
